Arias is a team of geotechnical, construction materials testing, and environmental consultants committed to helping our Clients achieve their project goals. We are licensed geotechnical engineers, professional geologists, engineers-in-training, estimators, project managers, CAD technicians, field and laboratory technicians, computer programmers, and administrative specialists. Since being founded by Robert P. Arias, P.E. in January 1996, we have established ourselves as a leading engineering consulting firm in Texas.
Our team is experienced, responsive, and credentialed. We build long-term relationships with our Clients based on integrity, honesty, open and direct communication, and traditional friendly service. At Arias, we know how our services impact a project’s design, construction, and performance. We see the big picture and strive to assure that our services contribute positively to both the project’s short-term and long-term outcomes.
Arias has been the only testing firm to win the “Best Places to Work” honors from the San Antonio Express News annual contest in two of the last three years. In 2009, we won the “Best Places to Work” under the “Work-Life Balance” category for the City of San Antonio based on all companies of similar size that responded. In 2011, we were the only local geotechnical engineering and materials testing laboratory to receive the “Best Places to Work” award.
Arias is designated as a Historically Underutilized Business (HUB) by the State of Texas. We are also certified as a Minority Business Enterprise (MBE), Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE), and Small Business Enterprise (SBE) by the South Central Texas Regional Certification Agency (SCTRA) and the North Central Regional Certification Agency (NCTRCA) as a MBE.
Our principal geotechnical engineers have more than 30 years of experience with geotechnical engineering and construction materials testing services; our staff engineers have 15 or more years of geotechnical engineering and construction materials testing experience. Most of our construction materials technician staff hold one or more industry certifications including those granted by the American Concrete Institute (ACI), National Institute for the Certification of Engineering Technologies (NICET), Texas Asphalt Pavement Association Hot Mix Asphalt Center, Precast Prestressed Concrete Institute (PCI), Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA), and American Welding Society (AWS).
