Between 2003 and 2006, Arias provided geotechnical engineering and construction materials testing services. Development included a two-story concrete framed school building with an approximate building footprint of 100,000 square feet and an associated 30,000 square foot parking lot. Ancillary structures such as chiller pads also were constructed. Arias explored stratigraphic and groundwater conditions within the proposed development areas by performing single flight auger drilling and geotechnical sampling at nine test locations. During construction, we monitored earthwork operations during installation of the engineered fill pad and performed field and laboratory testing to verify that the materials and their placement met the project plans and specifications. Field testing to verify properties of concrete placed for foundations, slabs, and paving was performed; we returned field-cast test specimens to our laboratory to verify that the specified concrete strength was achieved. We monitored installation of asphalt.
