POTENTIAL OFF CHANNEL RESERVOIR SITES MID-BASIN WATER SUPPLY PROJECT STUDY
A potential off channel reservoir site or sites, was being planned by the GBRA for Gonzales County, Texas. One (1) potential site area was located northeast of Gonzales in the vicinity of the intersection of Texas Highways 304 and 97. The other potential site area was located southeast of Gonzales in the vicinity of U.S. Highway 90 and County Roads (CR) 343, 345, and 348. At the time of our geotechnical study, conceptual plans for the reservoirs had not yet been developed as the project was in the initial feasibility stages. Thus, the results of our study were utilized to assist in determining the suitability of the site(s) for use as potential off channel reservoir sites. Although no conceptual plans existed at the time of our study, it was anticipated that the selected site(s) would include typical elements from similar projects including the following: Pump Stations, Pipelines and Reservoirs. Arias provided geotechnical engineering services to provide preliminary geotechnical design information, construction criteria and other considerations.
