RECONSTRUCTION OF IH-35 & WALTERS ROAD
SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS
Arias performed the geotechnical engineering study for the Reconstruction of Walters Road at IH-35 which consisted of upgrades at one of the main entrances to Fort Sam Houston Military Base as well as the reconstruction of approximately 2,500 linear feet of Walters Road from the IH-35 South Bound Frontage Road to Fort Sam Houston. The project included a new bridge, retaining walls, new turnaround, exit ramp, utility upgrades and both flexible asphalt and rigid concrete pavement sections. Construction was completed in 2011 at a total cost of approximately thirty-five (35) million dollars.
