Project Description

Arias provided Geotechnical Engineering and Construction Materials Testing services for the construction of the Robert B. Green campus for the University Health System in San Antonio, Texas.

The project consisted of the development of a Clinical Services Building with associated grade level parking, pavement and walkways in the area bounded by Perez Street to the north, North Leona Street to the east, West Martin Street to the south and North Frio Street to the west. The project was constructed in a previously developed area which required demolition of then-present structures.

The six (6) story building structure encompasses a total building area of approximately 200,000 SF. The building frame is predominantly a reinforced cast in-place concrete structure with a structural steel framed penthouse area at the top level. The structure is founded on deep straight shaft drilled piers with a suspended first floor slab.
