Robert Arias has been in the engineering business since 1977 and has spent much of his career providing geotechnical engineering and materials testing services in Central and South Texas. He has also provided geotechnical services in other states, Europe and the Middle East. Robert formed Arias in January 1996 in his very own garage, and has since grown Arias into a premier engineering firm. Robert has a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and a Master of Science in Civil Engineering at The University of Texas at Austin.
Jeremy has been employed at Arias since its founding in 1996 and currently serves as President of Arias, overseeing corporate operations. Through his leadership, our company excels in service to our customers. Mr. Arias has been in the IT field since 1996 and endeavors to assure that Arias resources including facility infrastructure, telecommunications, and general information technology operations assist Arias in achieving its corporate mission. Under his guidance, Arias has developed a project management and billing system (CORE) to improve service to our customers.
Jeremy studied Computer Science at Baylor University from 1999-2002.
Amber has been employed by Arias since its founding in 1996 in various administrative and operational roles. In January of 2007, she assumed management of the Human Resources department. Amber embraced the challenge of organization, personnel communication, training and recruiting and succeeded in developing an effective and vital Human Resources department. Mrs. Hawkins continues to adapt and improve Human Resources to best serve our employees and customers.
As the Vice President of Human Resources, she is directly responsible for the overall administration, coordination, and evaluation of the Human Resources function. Company-wide, she develops and implements personnel policies and procedures; maintains knowledge of industry trends, employment, and Federal and State legislation to maintain Arias’ compliance; conducts compensation reviews and oversees performance reviews; assists in contract review; conducts recruitment effort; monitors career pathing; and acts as a role model within and outside the company.
Amber received her Associates of Arts from Seattle Community College in 2005 and studied Spanish at Seattle University in 2006.
Angela currently serves as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and oversees Arias' accounting and financial matters. With 20 years of experience in accounting, 11 of which were in construction/site work she brings knowledge as to how business and accounting is handled from that of our client’s perspective.
Angela received her Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) in 2006 and an MBA from University of Phoenix in 2009.
Dexter Bacon began his engineering career in 1978. His project experience has been particularly in the Central and South areas throughout Texas. He has served as the Geotechnical Engineer of Record for numerous transportation, municipal, oil and gas, mining, commercial buildings, government, and private projects. Dexter has extensive experience with various deep foundation types including driven concrete and steel piling, drilled shafts, auger cast piles, and DeWaal type foundations. He also has extensive forensic experience on building and pavement distress projects and is an expert regarding expansive and soft soil issues.
Dexter is currently the Geotechnical Engineer for the Corpus Christi Harbor Bridge project and has performed several geotechnical projects along the Port of Brownsville and other Ports along the Texas Gulf Coast. In Corpus Christi, he has served as the Geotechnical Engineer for projects including the USS Lexington Museum, the Corpus Christi Seawall Upgrades, and various ship docks and tank farm projects. In San Antonio, he has performed geotechnical engineering studies for the expansion of IH-10 from Loop 410 to Downtown San Antonio.

Baruyr Baghdasarian has been in the Geotechnical industry since 2010. He has international experience, having completed a variety of commercial, municipal, and transportation projects in Canada, Bermuda, and the U.S. Baruyr’s expertise stems from serving as a Geotechnical Consultant as well as a Geotechnical Design and Construction Support Engineer on several Design-Build and P3 projects.
He received his Bachelor of Applied Science in Civil Engineering and Bachelor of Science in Computing Technology (double degree program) from the University of Ottawa in 2008, and his Master of Engineering in Civil Engineering from the University of Toronto in 2010. An internationally licensed engineer, he received his Professional Engineer licenses from the Province of Ontario, Canada in 2013 and the State of Texas, USA in 2021. Mr. Baghdasarian is the Geotechnical Department Manager at the San Antonio office of Arias.

Alexandros Sioutis, P.E. joined Arias in 2019 as an intern while pursuing his Master of Science in Construction Engineering and Project Management at the University of Texas at Austin. After completing his degree, he joined the company full-time working closely with John Landwermeyer, P.E. Over his five years with Arias, Alex obtained his engineering license and has provided engineering services on over 180 projects including pipeline, transportation, and drainage projects. With his expertise in geotechnical engineering, Alex earned the title of Geotechnical Department Manager for the Austin office.

Alex Salcedo has served as Arias’ Director of Laboratory services for fifteen (15) years and is responsible for the technical quality of the laboratory testing performed by Arias. His numerous certifications reflect his extensive knowledge and experience in the testing of various materials. He has been in the geotechnical and CMT industries since 1993.
His laboratory experience includes testing of the following materials: asphaltic concrete, concrete, soils, masonry and aggregates. His field experience includes: monitoring of foundation installation, reinforcing steel observation, concrete placement observation and testing, post-tension observation, and in-place density testing of soil, aggregate, and asphalt.
